I love this book it has deepened my understanding of privacy solove presents a taxonomy of privacy harms listing four major and about 16 20 minor categories of privacy harm covering a wide range of topics and examples as well as legal precedents and cultural differences. Useful but dissapointing as one of the few books in the market that claims to develop a theory of privacy i expected a lot more in the first two chapters solove criticizes the main theories of privacy trying to demonstrate that privacy is a concept in disarray. Solove offers a comprehensive overview of the difficulties involved in discussions of privacy and ultimately provides a provocative resolution he argues that are multiple forms of privacy related to one another by family resemblances his theory bridges cultural differences and addresses historical changes in views on privacy. Soloves book exhibits both a solid and critical command of privacys complexity and philosophical richness and it succeeds in making the theoretical contribution he sets out for himself a a major contribution to understanding privacy
